Iroko is a strong and durable wood species which has little effect in ‘working’, making it applicable for many purposes. Both internally and externally. Also for exterior decks on sailing- and motor yachts, Iroko is suitable. Because this african wood species shows in appearance a vague comparison with teak, it’s also known as ‘African teak’. The freshly sawn heartwood of Iroko has a butter yellow / brown yellow colour with some darker zones occasionally. Iroko has the same nicely evenly natural graying process as teak.
